So you're hosting Thanksgiving this year. Lucky you. We at Adrian Durban Florist envy your position and wish we could host a thousand Thanksgivings.
No, we're not kidding.
Why are you so lucky? Because of the flowers, of course. If you like fresh blooms and love designing a room around them (or in conjunction with them), then Thanksgiving is like your dream holiday. So many richly-hued arrangements await, so many textures and scents, so many rustic baskets and cornucopias. You get to find that one showstopper piece to place on your table as you harvest up your home for your guests. And then eat. We have some ideas for the flowers (we'll leave the eating to you). Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year or have you been invited into someone else's home? If it's the latter, you're not alone. Last year, nearly 50 million people traveled at least 50 miles from home to enjoy Thanksgiving. That's a lot of hosting, and at Adrian Durban Florist, we think it should be rightfully acknowledged.
The tradition of bringing or sending a host or hostess gift is old and long, crossing cultures and involving its own customs. Here in the U.S., it's traditional to offer a bouquet of flowers in a vase. That way, the host or hostess has nothing to do but place your gift somewhere in the home and to enjoy it. There are a dozen ways to honor our military this Veterans Day, whether you're heading to Cincinnati Public Library's annual celebration, joining one of the 5K runs, or simply spending time with your beloved vet at home. We've been celebrating our country's finest in some form or another on November 11 since 1919, showering them with the attention and respect they deserve. Marches, parades, and other festivities have historically been the way to do this, ever since President Calvin Coolidge called upon us to observe the holiday and offer our thanks. Adrian Durban Florist is doing its part to help you express your gratitude to someone who deserves it as well. Read More about Deliver Pride this Veterans Day »

These days, Sweetest Day continues as a regional tradition, although it has spread to other parts of the country - and we think, should be celebrated everywhere!
